Frequently Asked Questions

By definition, dynamic means “constant change.” This process will allow golf rates to be adjusted – both lower and higher – in real-time, based on demand, availability, and other changing factors. While this style of pricing may be relatively new to the game of golf, airlines, hotels and now even your favorite sports teams have been utilizing this pricing strategy for years.

At peak times, the rates may increase. At slower times, the rates may be reduced. You now have the power to book a green fee that fits how much you want to pay and when you want to play.

With dynamic pricing, the golf rate is always changing based on supply and demand, for every day and every hour. You can answer this question a couple of ways.

  1. Our golf rate varies by time and day and day of the week, ranging from XX to XX.
  2. For our most up to date rates, you can check our website or download our App. As a reminder, we accept tee times up to XX days in advance.

To help with the transition, we have sample content you can place on your website to explain your new pricing.

Generally, it’s best to book as far in advance as possible for the lowest rates. Always remind the golfer of your booking window (i.e. “We accept tee times XX days in advance). As the tee sheet fills in and fewer tee times are available, the rate generally increases. Conversely, if the tee sheet is not as busy, sometimes the rate may fall. In addition, there may be Daily Deal promotional tee times available on our website or app.

Because our rates are constantly changing, it is more common now that not everyone will pay the same rate. Again, it helps to book as far in advance as possible when the course may not be as full.

Just like airlines and hotels, where virtually no one pays the same amount for a seat on the same flight or a room for the same night.

Generally, there are two types of golfers, those that must or need to play at a certain time every day and those that don’t have a time constraint and want the lowest rate. This is why the golf industry has generally always had higher rates in the morning with discounted rates in the afternoon. With dynamic pricing, we are now prioritizing and capitalizing on those behaviors. We are capitalizing on the high demand hours of the week by charging more when we know the course will be busy and tee times are being booked quickly. Conversely, we are prioritizing the hours that are generally slower and not as in demand, by offering a lower rate and promoting those hours via Daily Deals.

While not evident to the golfer directly, the pricing adjustments can create an organic “discount”. For example, your base rate is $41 and the 8 and 9am hours on a Monday morning are being adjusted upwards by 20%, however the 10am hour is not being adjusted at all. If a golfer was to look at your booking engine, they would see a $50 rate at 9am, but a $41 rate at 10am. So, while your base rate is actually $41, the golfer may think that they are getting a “deal” by booking the 10am tee time since it is $9 less than the 9am tee time.

Don’t forget about your loyalty card programs or memberships. For those golfers who want to know what they are paying each time they play or want to save money, these programs typically do just that.
